Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins, also known as Antonietta Gonzalez-Collins in both the US and Mexico, is an American-Mexican sportscaster. She currently works as working as a sportscaster at ESPN who is also an anchor of SportsCenter reports and hosts SportsNation. She joined ESPN as a reporter in 2016. Her mother is the TV reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual from her age of nine. Her ability was crucial in securing her first position as an assistant to the production team at Univision Miami and Univision Miami, where she assisted the production of programs including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Following this it was announced that she was hired by the CBS station of St. Petersburg employed her as a reporter for sports. In 2009, she relocated from Texas to Rio Grande Valley where she became a news correspondent on KNVO TV 48 Univision. Reports on her show covered immigration issues, drug trafficking, and others on the Texas as well as the Mexico border. She was also an anchor and Spanish reporter on the newscast from 5 p.m. as well as anchor and reporter on the newscast at 9 p.m. on English as well as also a Spanish reporter at 10 p.m. The duties of anchoring for sports or weather were also frequently requested. Then she anchor and wrote at Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was given more responsibilities. She produced pieces about the Major League Baseball's ALDS ALCS and World Series the Dallas Cowboys the NBA postseason and Finals FC Dallas and the Dallas Stars. She also produced Univision 23's local sports show Accion Deportiva Extra, on which she served as anchor. She was advertised as anchoring sports for Despierta America Deportes' morning show. The same role she was employed by Primer Impacto (a network magazine) and Contacto Deportivo (a UniMas Network sports channel). Antonietta Collins was born and raised in Veracruz Mexico. At some point they were moved into Mexico City where she was born on November 22 1985. There is also an older sibling. She is the older sister. In 1992, her parents divorced soon after. In 1995, she got married again Fabio Fajardo who was naval engineer, who passed away in the year 2006 due to kidney cancer. The summer of the year 2006, Antonietta spent an entire week with her sister at Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was working at the time. Still a senior in high school but knowing exactly about what she wanted to pursue in her future, Antonietta visited her local University of Mount Union to examine if it was a good fit for her requirements. The campus was a dream for her. They also offered her the program she was interested in. She graduated from school and was attended the university with a media studies major. Mark Bergmann was her professor and the manager of WRMU in which she's a member. They developed a close friendship. The professor encouraged her to be confident and was deeply moved by his enthusiasm for journalism.
